Support your Local Florist During Difficult Times

We are in the midst of extraordinarily difficult times, feeling the tensions and fear of uncertainty. From health to the economy, we are all affected by COVID-19 as it has fundamentally changed all our lives overnight. With all the personal adjustments required, I am grateful for those that still make the effort to help others as well as themselves: all health care and safety workers, grocery store employees, those who are providing supplies to the store, and everyone else doing their part in coming together.

Social distancing is the newest and hippest word on the street! - You know #SocialDistancing - and although we should be physically distancing we don’t have to distance emotionally.  It’s more important than ever to connect with our loved ones on an emotional level to offer solidarity, support, concern, and care. Flowers are a physical, tangible memento to express all this at a time when we must rely so heavily on the virtual world to meet our social and emotional needs. Even as you’re quarantined with your loved ones, flowers allow you to keep that spark and cheer alive during troubled times. A reminder of life still being lived, enjoyed, and expressed! Flowers have the power to elicit hope, joy, relaxation, and even happy tears. Offering a reminder of the good, the colorful, the engaging.  A floral bouquet or arrangement can be a bridge to help you stay connected in a more meaningful way. A beautiful arrangement can bring inspiration to the homes in which we now find ourselves spending vast amounts of time.

A floral delivery is a win on all counts! The recipient experiences much needed happiness, attention, affection, and care. The gift-giver gets a surge of endorphins for providing such positivity. Your local florist receives a vital opportunity to keep their business alive during these economically turbulent times. It’s especially important now to support your local businesses. It is these businesses that help keep our society functional and operational, contributing to the local economy.  Local and small businesses are particularly vulnerable and immediately affected by the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of these businesses are struggling to stay afloat and uncertain about their sustainability. Your local community florist guarantees that your flowers are fresh and last longer, since they are obtained locally as well and thus do not deteriorate or decay through lengthy and suboptimal shipping processes.  Support your community by supporting your local florist. Support your loved ones, by offering sentiment. Support yourself by offering human expression and emotional connection.

Times are tough and uncertain, but we will all get through this together, as human kind has always done. Each blossom is a reminder of hope and life. There are still things within our control, we have the ability to make the best of this time. Let me send your loved ones messages of comfort and inspiration expressed through my arrangements. Let me put a smile on the faces of those nearest and dearest to you. During this time of social distancing, let’s not become emotionally distant. Let’s continue to innovate and connect in new ways. Let’s come together as a community, support our local businesses, offer affection to our loved ones, and lend a helping hand to our neighbors. As Helen Keller intoned, “alone, we can do so little, together, we can do so much.” A valuable and timely reminder.

  Stay safe everyone!

Sincerely yours,
